Alaska Indian tokens are diversely dated and denominated as 1/4, 1/2, or One Alaska Pinch.
The design features an Indian Head facing left or right, surrounded by stars.
The reverse displays the denomination within a wreath.
The earliest known print mention of the tokens was in the March 1907 issue of The Elder
Monthly, the house organ for New York City numismatic auctioneer Thomas Elder:
The Alaska Indian Round series was included in the
M.E. Hart's Coins of the Golden West set formed by
Farran Zerbe, also sold during (or shortly after) the PPIE.
