Hibler-Kappen attributions on Western souvenir gold tokens

Harold E. Hibler and Charles V. Kappen were the authors of the 1963 reference So-Called Dollars.

The "HK" reference was a significant expansion of the 1953 Richard D. Kenney booklet. Kenney, who died in 1957 at the age of 39, did not include so-called gold dollars in his work.

Hibler and Kappen relied upon the 1955 R.H. Burnie reference on Western souvenir gold. Some mistakes in that reference found their way into the Hibler-Kappen volume.

So-Called Dollars was revised in 2008 by Tom Hoffman, Dave Hayes, Jonathan Brecher, and John Dean.
